XLOOKUP is the modern replacement for VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP. It searches in any direction, returns multiple values, and does not break when columns are inserted.
If your office still uses Excel 2019 or earlier, learn both — VLOOKUP for compatibility, XLOOKUP for everything new.
